State Superintendent impressed with Mansfield Spanish Immersion School

Mansfield City Schools’ Spanish Immersion School got a surprise visit this week from State Superintendent of public instruction Paolo DeMaria, who came away very impressed with what he saw. DeMaria listen to the children sing and talk about the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. totally in Spanish. The Mansfield City Schools’ Spanish Immersion School has been named a High Performing School by the Ohio Department of Education.

The honor was given out to just four schools in the state of Ohio.  The Mansfield Spanish Immersion School received the 2016 National Title 1 Distinguished School Award.  The honor was handed out to only 1 other school in the entire State of Ohio and just 100 schools across the country.
