Ontario to Honor Its First Football Coach

With the high school football season right the corner, Ontario is set to honor its first high school football coach. Roger Copeland spent 17 seasons as the Warriors football coach, the first coming back in 1961. Ontario's home games are played at Copeland Field, where Roger Copeland led the school to 5 league titles and 107 wins. On August 25th, 372 former players have been invited to the ceremony to honor Copeland, who is now 90 years old and lives in Shelby. A plaque will be dedicated in Copelands honor.
