Ashland County Commissioners Give OK to Sheriff Dispatch Upgrade

The Ashland County Commissioners have given the thumbs up for a nearly $500,000 upgrade to the Ashland County Sheriff Dispatch Center, which has old equipment and needs replaced. RichlandSource.com reports, the Commissioners are paying for the project using the county’s capital improvement fund. The county has a contract with Zuercher Technologies for just over $334,000 to upgrade its Technology System, while another $160,000 will go towards rewiring, new carpet and furniture. The hope is this will lure city leaders to rejoin the Ashland County Dispatch Center. Right now, the cities of Wooster, Ashland and Orrville are part of the Wooster, Ashland Regional Dispatch Center.
