Shelby looking into possibility of citywide broadband

Shelby is looking into the possibility of citywide broadband, according to RichlandSource.com. John Ensman, who is the director of utilities in Shelby, said they are preparing for a study to see if it is feasible. The broadband project study will take 4 to 5 months to complete. The build out of fiber to homes and businesses could start sometime in 2021, but would first need city council approval.
