Ashland County has 3rd Positive COVID-19 case

The Ashland County Health Department (ACHD) is reporting the third positive test result for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in an Ashland County resident.

The public health investigation is ongoing with ACHD conducting contact tracing. Individuals who were in close contact with the confirmed case will be notified and given further instructions. No additional information will be released to protect the privacy of this individual.

Please continue to follow Ohio Health Director Dr. Amy Acton’s stay-at-home orders. If it is necessary to leave your house, practice social distancing and follow these additional guidelines: wash your hands regularly; avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth; and disinfect frequently touched surfaces often.

If you are sick, contact your doctor by phone to discuss your symptoms. COVID-19 symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath.

“As the ACHD works diligently to contain COVID-19, please limit calls to our office,” Hartson said. “Excellent resources are available on the CDC’s website.”
