Ohio Could Release Some Inmates From Prison Due to COVID-19

Open door to prison cell

Governor DeWine is asking county and local judges to grant early release to inmates at risk from COVID-19. That group includes pregnant women, prisoners over the age of 60 and those who have less than 60 days until their sentences end. The request is an attempt to stop the spread of the coronavirus behind bars. DeWine says all inmates being considered for early release are non-violent offenders.
