Health Insurance costs are a big reason why Mansfield City Schools treasurer Tacy Courtright feels the district expects to be facing a $1 million deficit by next month.

According to RichlandSource.com, fiscal year 2022 comes to an end on June 30th and because the district is self-funded, they have had some higher claims.  The schools benefits team is looking into ways to help save costs and Courtright’s 5 year forecast shows the budget is in better shape than it showed last fall, but she said they district needs to work on their deficit spending.
