Mansfield Homeless Shelter, Harmony House, Beyond Capacity

The Harmony House homeless shelter in downtown Mansfield is beyond max capacity, according to Executive Director Kelly Blankenship.

Harmony House has 58 beds on two floors and Wednesday, had 60 people staying at the facility on West Third Street.

Blankenship says they serve anyone in need in the community, men, woman and children and are on track to serve more than 700 people this year. The normal yearly average is just over 500 and they are busier in the summer time, but Blankenship wishes they had a bigger building to be able to help more people. If anyone wants to donate items that are needed like pillows, bath linens, cleaning products, paper towels and of course cash. Volunteers are needed and you can reach out at theharmonyhouse.org.
