Boys Basketball: Lexington Stays In 1st Place, Hangs On To Beat Senior High

January 27th - The Lexington Minutemen remain, all alone in 1st place, after a 57-54 win at home Friday over OCC rival, Mansfield Senior. Lex trailed after the 1st quarter, 15-13, but used a huge 12-0 to take control of the game and never trailed after that point. Senior High cut the lead to 3 points late, but Hudson Moore's clutch free throws in the final minute sealed the win for the Minutemen, who move to 10-1 in league play and 14-2 overall. Lex was led by Hudson Moore with 15 points, 11 rebounds, while Brayden Fogle added 13 points, 11 rebounds and Elijah Hudson had 14. Mansfield Senior was led by Kyevi Roane, who scored a game high 21 points in the loss, which drops Senior High to 10-6 overall and 8-3 in the OCC. The Minutemen won the battle of the board with a 46-40 edge in rebounding, 20 of them offensive rebounds. (Aired 1/27/23)
