Please join us in celebrating three promotions occurring within the Mansfield Fire Department.
On Monday, December 11, 2023, at 09:00, Interim Safety-Service Director Dave Remy will preside over the swearing-in ceremony for the following members:
• Captain Mike Carey is being promoted to Assistant Fire Chief.
• Lieutenant Matt Shafley is being promoted to Captain.
• Firefighter Kyle Hedrick is being promoted to Lieutenant.
The ceremony will be held at the central fire station, 140 E 3 rd St, Mansfield, Ohio.
These promotions will fill vacancies created by the retirement of Steve Strickling and the subsequent appointment of Daniel Crow as Chief of Fire. Candidates for promotional vacancies within the fire department are selected through competitive examination and testing through the Mansfield Civil Service Commission.
