Mansfield, OH (January 17, 2025) – During the MOESC Board of Governors organizational meeting on Wednesday, January 15, Douglas Theaker was appointed Board President while William McFarland was assigned as Board Vice-President.
The men and women comprising MOESC’s Board of Governors (including their tenure) are:
· Linda Schumaker - 1 year
· William “Bill” Hope - 8 years
· William “Bill” McFarland - 3 years
· Brad Geissman - 9 years
· Glenna Plotts - 9 years
· Kyle Swigart - 9 years
· Douglas Theaker - 31 years
Regarding the regular Board meeting that followed the organizational meeting, the Board was recognized for Ohio School Boards Association School Board Recognition Month. The Ohio School Boards Association celebrates School Board Recognition Month every January to build awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education plays in our society. Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center joins districts throughout the state to recognize school board members' significant contributions to their communities.
MOESC Superintendent Kevin D. Kimmel presented everyone with a framed certificate of commendation on behalf of the Ohio School Boards Association.

The next MOESC Board of Governors meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at 12:00 p.m.
Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center provides specialized academic and support services to 13 school districts and over 20,000 students in Crawford, Morrow and Richland Counties. Client districts receive services from curriculum, gifted and special education consultants, speech pathologists, psychologists, special education teachers, occupational therapists and physical therapists.
