Former Richland County Judge, James Henson, Passes Away

A former Richland County Judge has died.

James Henson passed away on Sunday at the age of 83. Henson retired in 2014, after 33 years on the bench. RichlandSource.com reports, Henson was the longest serving Common Pleas Court judge in Richland County history.

In 1997, he helped start what is known as Drug Court, Richland County Substance Abuse Treatment Court. It was one of the first in Ohio and across the country. Henson became a judge in 1980 at the age of 38. He also spent 3 years in the U.S. Army and worked as an FBI officer.
