Perrysville Man, 33, Guilty on 42 Felony Counts, Including Attempted Murder

A 33 year-old Perrysville man has been convicted of the attempted murder of an Ontario police officer.

RichlandSource.com reports, Jareth Vance was found guilty on 42 felony counts from the incident on February 11th, 2024, where he shot and wounded an Ontario Police officer and another victim in a 4 hour standoff with authorities.

The Richland County Prosecutor's office said, Vance prior to traveling to Ontario that day, set fire to the home of an ex-girlfriend in Crawford County with her dogs locked inside.

Sentencing for Jareth Vance will take place on August 28th, 2025.
