Mansfield Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 256 South Main Street in reference to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a subject near an alley who appeared to have sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
Detectives are currently on the scene. At this time, there is no suspect information available. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification of the family.
We want to reassure the community that this does not appear to be a random act, and there is no immediate danger to the public. Additional details will be released at a later date as they become available.
