Mansfield Finance director, Kelly Converse, told city council that close to all of the more than $748,000 stolen from a fraud scheme, back in the spring, has been recovered.

According to RichlandSource.com, Mansfield's finance department was scammed back in May in a fraudulent e-mail phishing scheme and sent payment intended to a vendor to a fraudulent bank account.

$536,000 was traced and recovered, while another $200,000 was reimbursed through Mansfield's insurance coverage. The final $11,000 has been submitted through another insurance policy, which Converse is confident that the city will be reimbursed with those funds.
