Park National Bank has withdrawn their proposal to build a new office building on the western half of the Municipal Parking lot on Main Street in downtown Mansfield.

RichlandSource.com reports, Chris Hiner, Mansfield Regional President for Park National Bank, said, the decision comes after thoughtful consideration from feedback from Mansfield’s small business community and residents, and maintaining the current parking lot is a priority, and we respect that.

Park National Bank announced their decision a few hours after some business owners, employees and residents held a protest downtown against the proposal on Tuesday.

Mansfield mayor, Jodie Perry, shared on social media, at this time, she is pulling the legislation regarding the parking lot.
