The Madison School Board could vote as early as next week to cut at least 26 jobs across the district.

According to RichlandSource.com, the board is likely to close Mifflin Elementary School after 55% of voters said no to a proposed 1.5% income tax levy during last week's General Election.

The board will also vote on a pay to participate fee for athletics and clubs.

Madison District treasurer, Bradd Stevens, predicts the reductions should save the district around $2 million dollars.

The school board is scheduled to meet on November 19th.
