Mansfield St. Peter's improved their record above .500 (5-4) with a league win over rival Lucas, 51-44, on Friday at home.
The Spartans led after the 1st quarter 16-7, thanks to 9 points, 3 blocks and 2 dunks from senior Markeis Johnson. Markeis poured in 22 points lead St. Peter's, while Jaydon Fultz drilled three 3's and chipped in 9 points.
The Spartans led by 13 points at halftime, 28 -15 and increase their lead to 39-25 after three quarters.
Lucas outscored St. Peter's 19-12 in the 4th quarter and cut the lead down to single digits, thanks to a big effort from senior Hayden Maloney, who scored a career high 24 points and pulled down 9 rebounds.
Lucas falls to 0-12 and 0-5 in the Mid-Buckeye Conference, while the Spartans improve to 2-3 in the league.
