A crowd of around 170 people gathered inside the Der Dutchman Restaurant in Bellville on Thursday for the annual Talkin Cleveland Baseball event, where Cleveland Guardians Broadcasters, Matt Underwood, Jim Rosenhaus and Bob Dibiasio spoke to the crowd about the outlook for the 2026 team.
The event, organized by Barb Schopp-Miller of the Kiwanis Club of Mansfield, raised over $3,000 for the Friendly House in Mansfield.
Underwood, who is from Ashland, spent time playing basketball as a kid at the Friendly House, is heading into his 27th year broadcasting baseball, starting on radio and now on TV. Rosenhaus is entering his 36th year covering baseball and 20th in Cleveland, while Dibiasio, Senior VP of Public Relations, is entering his 48th year in Major League Baseball, 47 of those years in Cleveland.
The Guardians, who have won the AL Central Division in back-to-back years, open the season in Seattle on March 26th. The spring training opener is just 9 days away in Goodyear, Arizona vs the Reds. You can hear every Guardians game on WMAN during the regular season and playoffs, plus select spring training games.
