TYgers Headed to District Championship Game for the 1st Time Since 2014

Mansfield Senior is headed to the district championship game for the 1st time in 12 years.

The TYgers beat Oregon Clay, 55-47, on Thursday in the district semi-final at Ontario High School.

Senior High sophomore Kaylen Brooks shot 52% from the floor and poured in a game-high 28 points in the win. Brooks connected on four 3's and was clutch in the 4th quarter, where he knocked down 6 of 8 free throws. DJ Corbin had a double-double for the TYgers, 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Andrew Brooks played with incredible energy on offense and defense, where he added 8 points, 4 rebounds, 3 steals and drained 2 big free throws late in the 4th quarter.

Oregon Clay was led by Grant Oberdick with a team-high 24 points.

Senior High (17-7) will now play Lima Shawnee on Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Division III district championship game at Ontario. It's the TYgers first appearance in the district final since 2014.
