Plans are in the works to build a massive travel center in Richland County at the interchange of I-71 and Ohio 39.
RichlandSource.com reports, the project for a Buc-ee's Travel Center, which would feature over 100 gas pumps and unique offers has been in the works for several months, which Mansfield mayor, Jodie Perry says, the company approached local officials last summer.
Buc-ee's, which is based in Texas, and has over 50 locations in 10 states, would generate millions of new dollars in annual local payroll. Most of the land is in Madison Township with a small portion in Mifflin.
The new travel center could see the addition of 200 new, full time jobs. If everything continues to move along, construction could start later this year and take 15 to 18 months to complete.
