A milk tanker semi- truck crashed through a guardrail early Sunday morning on US 30 in Ashalnd County and ended up in Charles Mill Lake.

The Ashland Highway Patrol says the accident took place in the west bound lane of US 30, near State Route 603, at 5:41 a.m. The driver, a 34 year old man from Oakwood, Ohio, went off the right side of the road, hit a stop sign and then through a guardrail and down a steep enbankment into Charles Mill Lake. The truck and trailer became detached and just the tanker, which was not hauling milk at the time, went into the lake.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene. ODOT helped with traffic and removing the semi and trailer from the lake.
