His 57-year-old sister Tyka Nelson spoke with the outlet about an upcoming Prince memorabilia auction in London and made the big revelation. "The stand out piece for me is his orange Cloud guitar. It is strange because people always associate the color purple with Prince, but his favorite color was actually orange," she revealed. Yep, all these years we thought that the music icon had a particularly special tie to the color purple. After all, his nickname was the Purple Wonder.
As Spin noted, some of his notable orange ensembles include his sparkling orange tunic at the 2015 Grammy Awards, his all-orange suit from his 2007 Super Bowl press conference and, of course, his orange on orange look during his Las Vegas residency in 2006.
Among the other items part of the auction include his 1984-85 "Purple Rain Tour," his 1988-89 "LoveSexy Tour" and the Gibson L65 guitar he used for his national television debut in 1980. "There are lots of never-before-seen articles that my brother had stored over the years, and it will be the first time they have ever left Paisley Park," she added.
