An Alabama teen is accepted into 15 universities and receives over $2-million in scholarship offers. Recent high school grad, Rotimi Kukoyi, from Hoover, Alabama, was inspired to apply to multiple prestigious universities after appearing on the “Jeopardy!” Teen Tournament in 2018 and getting to meet other high-achieving students from across the country.

Among the esteemed schools that Rotimi was accepted to are Harvard, Yale, Vanderbilt, Emory, Johns Hopkins, and Duke. But in the end, the National Merit Scholar decided on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he’ll be attending with a full-ride scholarship. He plans to pursue a career in public health so he can help others.

Now that he’s nailed down his own college plans, Rotimi has been trying to inspire other students to dream big when it comes to the schools they’re thinking of applying to. He wants his peers to know that financing doesn’t have to be an obstacle with so many financing options out there. And while he’s being rightly praised for his accomplishments, what Rotimi really wants to be known for is caring for others. "I suppose a lot of people in the pursuit of their own goals can kind of forget what it's all about," he says.
