The nonprofit Make-A-Wish has partnered up with Zoo Miami to fulfill a dream for an animal-loving 17-year-old who recently underwent surgery for a brain tumor.

Allison Farley has had a difficult time lately. She is going strong though, despite having to undergo surgery following a diagnosis of a brain tumor. “It’s been rough on and off, but I have made it through,” says the teen from Katy, Texas.

To cheer up Allison, who is a self described animal lover and has more than a dozen pets at home, the Make-A-Wish Foundation managed to get her a private tour of Zoo Miami. The teen and her parents were shown around the zoo by their ambassador, Ron Magill, and were able to get up close with the animals. She even got a chance to pet and feed the zoo’s famous resident, Pete the Sloth. The teen was all smiles, grateful for the once-in-a-lifetime experience.
