A Michigan man buys an undelivered postcard from 1949 at an antique show, tracks down the original intended recipient, and delivers it. History buff Ryan Florios was at the Flat Rock Speedway antique show looking for “pieces of neat little history,” when he came across a stack of vintage postcards in good condition.

Among the stack of postcards was one that really piqued Florios’ interest. It was sent from a woman named Edna who was visiting Boston on October 5th, 1949 to Mr. Robb Brownson in River Rouge, Michigan. Florios thought the postcard might be meaningful to Brownson, so he reached out to a man with the same name on Facebook and it turned out to be the very same person.

Brownson’s mother Edna, passed away in 1979, but in 1949, she attended a national conference for school board members and sent her son a postcard while she was there. Brownson remembers his mother asking him if he got the card, but he never received it. That is until Florios finally delivered the card to him 73 years later. Now Brownson and Florios have struck up a friendship and discovered that they have a lot in common. And Brownson has a message for others:"When in doubt, do something nice for somebody.”
