New year, new me, right? Even if that’s not your mindset, if your life has felt a bit off the rails, a new year is a good time to start organizing it. Not sure how? Mimi Bogelund and Victoria Nicholsen of “The Spark Joy Collective” who have been trained by Marie Kondo, share their five tips on how to seriously organize yourself in 2023.
- Finalize or forget unfinished projects. Everyone’s got that project (or three) they’re meaning to start or finish. Having it in the background my be cluttering your mind more than you realize. Figure out how long it’ll take to finish, what costs are needed, and then figure out if it’s really worth it or not.
- Plan ahead. Sure, it’s tempting to leave things until the last minute, but pre-planning can really help you and keep you on track.
- Accept that there’s no quick fix. First, figure out what you want to feel different, and then figure out what you most want to tackle to get to that.
- Organize your calendar. What feels better than a blank calendar to fill in at the start of a new year? Start by filling in birthdays, anniversaries and important dates. Doing this will help you plan and budget ahead of time.
- Marie Kondo your home. Audit your home and get rid of anything that’s not supporting your current lifestyle.
