A 13-year-old girl was recently rescued in Long Beach, California, after she bravely flashed a "Help Me!" sign from a parked car while her abductor was in a laundromat. The teen’s brave act has led to the arrest of the kidnapper, a 61-year-old Texas man who is now facing federal kidnapping charges.

The man allegedly threatened the girl with a gun earlier this month while she was walking down the road in San Antonio, Texas, saying, "If you don't get in the car with me, I am going to hurt you." He’s accused of abusing her repeatedly as they made the trip from Texas to California.

The kidnapper has now been indicted by a grand jury for charges that include kidnapping. Police say the girl was shaken and upset when they arrived on scene. After checking the alleged kidnapper’s vehicle, they learned he was wanted for multiple crimes back in Texas and placed him under arrest.
